surah al-fatihah

1. "بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيم
Bismi Llâhi r-rahmâni r-rahîm1."
1. "With the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Rewarding

2. ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِين
Al-hamdu liLlâhi rabbi l-`âlamîn
"THE Hamd belong to Allah, the Rabb of all the worlds;

3. "ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيم
Ar-rahmâni r-rahîm
the Rahman, the Rahim

4. "مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّين
Mâliki yawmi d-dîn
Malik of the Day of Requital.

5. "إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
Iyyâka na`budu wa'iyyâka nasta`în
You alone we do serve, and to You alone we beseech for help.

6. "ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَ ٰط ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
Ihdina s-sirâta l-mustaqîm
Guide us on the Right Path,

7. "صِرَ ٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ ٱلضَّاۤلِّينَSirâta llazîna an`amta `alayhim ghayri l-maghdhûbi `alayhim wala dh-dhâllîn
'the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favors; not of those upon whom wrath is brought down, nor of those gone-astray.
